The World Student Environmental Network (WSEN) was established in 2008. It was first held at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan, in an attempt to unite the environmentally conscious students worldwide. The success and enthusiasm of the participants in the first WSEN in Kyoto made it possible to be.
In 2016, the cooperation with University of Sussex and Keele University will hold the “9th WSEN summit in UK”. Doshisha is willing to send people who are studying within the Environmental field or who has had experience in studying about environmental related topics, and also those who have high ambitions to work on these issues.

||Selecting members, introducing meeting
In cooperation with Professor Ken Arii from Global Education centre, the candidates participate in his lecture "Introduction to the Nature of Japan and Asia in the Global Context". The class is lecture and discussion based, held in English.
|【Workshop】（one per week）
Members conduct workshops every week to prepare for the Summit.
・Choose different topics about environment issues.
・Ecology and an environmental issues in Japan or Doshisha University.
・Preparation and feedback to members’ individual presentations
・Improvement of English discussion skills
・Information sharing by candidates from the previous year
・Create reports for the WSEN website
・Interviewing public institutions
